Camp is better with friends! In order to ensure that friends attend camp together, we built the concept of a "friend pod" when you register for camp. A friend pod consists of all the campers who have expressed that they are friends during the registration process, and who have signed up for the same camp during the same week. If friends do not choose the same camp pod, we will adjust their pod choice so that they are all attending camp together. This can also be useful if you have siblings in your family who wish to attend camp in the same group as well.
How to ensure that your camper and their friends are in the same friend pod
When you register for camp, you will be asked to list the names of any friends that you would like to include in your friend pod. When you enter the names of those friends, we will check to see if anyone with those names are participating in the same camp or camps that your camper is attending. If your friends are sharing the same camp (such as Battlefield or Explorers), we will ensure that they are grouped together into the same camp pod (such as Alpha Squad or Cubs 2). You don't have to worry about selecting the same camp pod as your friends, as we will take care of that part for you.
If you signed up your camper, and then you have learned that a friend has also singed up, please feel free to email us or call us and we will create the friend pod for you.
How to find out who is in your camper's friend pod
When you register for camp, you will receive an email that lists all the campers who you have indicated you want in your camper's friend pod, and who we have been able to find reservations for. If the friend's name is on the list, and if your camper and the friend are in the same camp, they will be able to participate together. Due to privacy considerations, we are not able to tell you which weeks or camps the friends are signed up for. To learn that information, your camper will need to check in with their friend directly.
When a friend's name does not appear in the email confirmation
When you include a friend's name in your registration process, our team works hard to find that person's registration for the summer. If the friend has not yet signed up for camp however, we will not be able to match them to your friend pod. We will save the entry, and continue to look for their name, but their name will not appear in the confirmation email until we are able to identify them in our registration system.
